Class Description:  Colorful edgings are easy ways to transform basic stockinette stitch projects into something fabulous with little time or effort. Prolific author and knitwear designer Kristin Nicholas' latest book Color by Kristin uses many different fun and inventive edge treatments to decorate many different kinds of projects. You'll learn several different colorful stitches to make fringed, sculpted, ribbed, loopy and sturdy edgings on hats, mittens, pullovers, and cardigans. Kristin will give you many hints for professional finishing of edges. She will stretch your knitting skills so that you can become a more creative knitter.

Techniques Covered: How to pick up stitches; edgings, including mitered edgings.

Supplies to Bring to Class:

- One 8 x 8" swatch knit in solid color worsted weight yarn (wool or wool blend preferred)
- Double pointed needles (4) in a size appropriate for the yarn
- Several (at least 5) odds and ends of part balls in different colors of the same worsted weight yarn

Your usual ditty bag of knitting notions, including tape measure, scissors and tapestry needle.  Paper and pencil for notes.

Pre-Class Assignment: One 8 x 8" swatch knit in worsted weight yarn (wool or wool blend preferred)
