    From Underwear to Everywhere: Norwegian

Exhibition open event is August 22, 2015, from 3:00-5:00 pm.
Nothing says Norwegian quite like a Norwegian sweater. Coming from humble beginnings as a warm layer under a vest and jacket, Norwegian sweaters are now worn all over the world and for almost every occasion. This exhibition will focus on the history and different styles of Norwegian sweaters, including Setesdal, Fana, Marius, and Olympic. Learn about the symbolism behind some of the patterns and colors on sweaters and consider both the technology and artistry of this iconic garment.

Exhibit will remain on display through April 24, 2016.

    Cat’s background
Cat is a passionate teacher who teaches all over the world, and who puts her students at ease while she nurtures the best in them. As one of her students wrote, “Your generosity of spirit and kind attention to everyone set the stage for all to grow and learn.” Her YouTube knitting tutorials have over three million views, and her innovative knitting books and award-winning novel, Treasure Forest, have reached hundreds of thousands of readers. Cat teaches throughout the Americas, and has a great love for the people and textile traditions of Peru, where she and her brother Jim Petkiewicz bring small groups of knitters into intimate contact with their friends among the indigenous communities high in the Andes.
