Description: If you love color and want to bring more color into your yarns and knitting, knowing how to create ombre, gradient, and marled yarns will broaden your spinner’s toolbox! Learn techniques on blending boards, blending hackles, and the drum carder for preparing fibers that will give you color control in your spinning and result in yarns with clear, lively color, perfect for knitting.

Skill Level: Student should be comfortable spinning wool.

Homework: None

Tools Needed: Spinning wheel/bobbins in excellent operating condition. Optional: if students have their own drumcarder, blending board, or hackles that they would prefer to work with, feel free to bring them. There is no preparation needed for this workshop.

Materials Fee: $15.00 covers a generous supply of dyed spinning fibers and workshop handouts.
