Learn the basics of working I-Cord while knitting a cowl.  Begin with individual I-Cord and incorporate it into a basic cast on. Working in the round, continue working the I-Cord while knitting the cowl.  The I-Cord appears to float on the top of the work.  And for a perfect finish end with an applied I-Cord bind off.

NOTE:  This is part two of a 2-part class.  This class series meets on Oct. 29 and Nov. 5, 2014 from 7 to 8:30 pm. Must enroll for both classes.

Required advance work:  Choose a medium weight yarn  and appropriate needles to achieve a gauge of about 18 sts per 4 inches. Exact gauge is not critical for this project.

Work up small swatch of Stockinette Stitch (Knit 1 row, Purl 1 row) to measure your gauge.n  Swatch can be worked back and forth in rows.  Gauge variations will be addressed in class.

Supplies:  Bring these to class:

  1. 2 skeins heavy worsted weight yarn, each skein a different color
  2. 1 pair circular needles US size 8 (either 16" or 24" cable length) or size required for gauge
  3. 1 set of double pointed needles in US size 8 or size required for gauge
  4. Stitch markers

Experience level required: Must know how to cast on, knit and cast off
