Making Magic Balls

*Details for hat--see below

What do you do with all those leftover balls of yarn?

Make a Magic Ball.  Join different colors, textures and fibers together and make a  unique ball of yarn for a special project.  All the choices are yours:

  • Bring yarn from your stash or use amazing donated yarn.
  • Choose the colors and textures that please your imagination.
  • Knot the ends together or learn the Russian join.

Required advance work:  None

Experience required:  None

Cost:  None!  Free!

Supplies to bring: Bring a tapestry needle if you want to learn the Russian join.  Bring small balls of yarn if you want.  We have plenty of donated yarn for your use.

Additional cost for materials provided to the class: There will be a coffee cup for donations for the yarn.  Money collected will go back to the Community Projects Committee.

*The hat shown at the top was made with a Magic Ball.

It is the Magic Scraps Hat designed by Christiane Burkhard, available as a free Ravelry download.

Betty K. Ulanski knit it for Community Projects.
