SPRING SAFARI MAY 6, 2017

The trip will begin from the Dutch Mill Park & Ride at 7:45 am to start a day filled with fiber and serendipity as we head to mid-Wisconsin and the RITES OF SPRING: Fiber Frolic.

The first stop will be in Beaver Dam at NANCY’S NOTIONS. Our trip coincides with Nancy’s Sewing Weekend and Warehouse Sale. It will be fun to check out the aisles of notions, supplies and fabric.

Next up is BLEATING HEART HAVEN. Member Cindy Ellenbecker who is also coordinating this  3rd annual fiber event will welcome the group.  There will be time for coffee/tea and to tour the farm, shop and animals.

Back on the bus, we will head to Kiel, WI for lunch at the MILLHOME RESTAURANT. We will choose from a hot sandwich and salad bar. After lunch, we will head a short way up the road to ABLER ART GLASS. It will be fun to tour the gallery and learn how pieces of glass are melted and formed into works art.

After time with the glass, we will continue the safari to Valders where we will be greeted by Carol Wagner at THE HIDDEN VALLEY WOOLEN MILL. Carol has promised lots of new baby lambs for us to look in on and there will be time to shop her displays of yarn, fleece and finished goods.

The last stop on the day’s safari will be in Sheboygan at THE LOST SHEEP YARN SHOP. Pam Smith is ready to welcome us to her new shop, which is her dream come true!

This day promises to be quite an adventure. Sign up and bring along a friend. The safari requires a minimum of 30 to ensure it can head off to mid-Wisconsin for a day at the Fiber Frolic Rites of Spring.
