Everyone knows at least one bind off. However, there are many options for binding off stitches. Certain bind offs are appropriate to different garments and situations. You may need a stretchy bind off for a neckline but a firm bind off at the bottom of a sweater. The class will introduce bind offs with different levels of stretchy-ness and discuss when to use them.
Skill Level: advanced beginner
Must be able to knit and purl with ease.
Homework: Cast on 40 stitches using a smooth, light colored, DK or Worsted weight yarn and appropriate needles, knit in stockinette for two inches. Leave swatch on needles (or on stitch holder) and bring to class. Repeat two more times, a total of three swatches.
