Introduction to Brioche

This introductory class will cover single color brioche worked flat and if time permits we will discuss working single color brioche in the round.

 The class will provide students with a solid understanding of the brioche knit stitch and the brioche purl stitch. Students will be introduced to increase and decrease techniques.

Homework:

Using worsted or DK yarn and an appropriate needle (see Materials), cast on 20 stitches using long tail, German or Italian Cast On.

Materials to Bring to Class:

-Worsted or DK yarn and needles appropriate to the yarn. A smooth yarn, wool or cotton works best. Do not use a novelty yarn.

-the usual knitters collection of stitch markers, scissors, etc

Skill Level:

Advanced Beginner: Must be able to knit and purl with ease, slip, knit ribbing and cast on.
