Once mastered, knitting lace from charts is easier, faster, and less prone to error than other methods.  This simple lozenge lace sampler will introduce you to knitting lace from a chart.  We will talk about tips and tricks to make knitting lace easy and fun!  You will learn how to turn the sampler into a beautiful lace scarf.


Necessary materials:

1.  Bring pen and paper 

2.  Print handout

3.  Small amount of plain worsted weight yarn in light color

4.  1 pair knitting needles 2 sizes larger than recommended for the yarn (anything between US size 9 and US size 10, straight or circular)

5.  yarn needle for darning in ends

6.  stitch markers

 

Required advance work: Using light colored worsted weight yarn and needles any size between 8 and 10, cast on 17 stitches for bookmark and knit 5 rows.  Leave on needles and bring to class.

 

Experience level required: Know how to increase and decrease
