DR. MARINA MOSKOWITZ

"Knitting In Place"

On November 11, 2019, we will welcome Dr. Marina Moskowitz to the podium to share her expertise and some of her ongoing research into the history and social anthropology of textiles.

Dr. Moskowitz is the newly-appointed Lynn and Gary Mecklenburg Chair in Textiles and Material Culture at the School of Human Ecology, UW Madison, and is herself an avid knitter (and an admitted yarn hoarder!). After a 19 year long sojourn in Scotland on faculty at the University of Glasgow, she brings a unique perspective to our understanding of textile makers and their impact on our history and our culture.
