Speaker: Kathryn Ashley-Wright State of the Small Scale Wool Industry in the US Kathryn Ashley-Wright founded Ewetopia in Viroqua in 2007, and grew to open Ewetopia Fiber Mill in La Farge in 2017. She manages the mill full time and has a farm just east of La Farge with 60+ fine wool Cormo cross sheep. Kathryn enjoys knitting, sewing and fighting the patriarchy when she has a spare minute. of the Small Scale Wool Industry in the US - A general overview of small scale fiber processing and scouring to inform our conversation, then we will talk about wool production in the midwest and the avenues and roadblocks to this fiber production. How are small cottage fiber mills doing and what are issues for them. How do we weave a more efficient fiber-shed for wool production in the US, and the midwest in particular with the crafting industry as the focus.
